Tech to Trades is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the use of technology in construction training, with the overarching goal of fostering a more diverse, skilled, and inclusive workforce within the trades industry. Our mission is to create accessible opportunities for people from various backgrounds, including women, Canadian newcomers, youth, and marginalized individuals, to explore and pursue careers in the trades.
To achieve our mandate, we focus on several key objectives
Promote the use of technology in construction training
We strive to raise awareness about the importance and benefits of incorporating technology into construction training programs. By embracing technology, we believe that individuals can acquire skills more efficiently, and organizations can create more engaging and effective training experiences.
Conduct research on upcoming and available technologies
We actively explore and evaluate new and emerging technologies, assessing their potential applications for construction training. Our goal is to remain at the forefront of technological advancements and to implement these innovations in our training programs.
Provide free training to the public
We are committed to offering training programs at no cost to users, ensuring that everyone has equal access to the resources they need to succeed in the trades industry.
Attract diverse populations to career opportunities in the trades
We work to create a more inclusive and diverse workforce by actively engaging with women, Canadian newcomers, youth, and marginalized individuals. Through targeted outreach and tailored training programs, we aim to introduce these groups to the rewarding career opportunities available in the trades.
Collaborate with key stakeholders
We forge strong partnerships with employers, employment centers, trade unions, and training centers to promote the use of technology in construction training. By working together, we can create a stronger, more efficient, and more inclusive trades workforce.
Support training opportunities through event facilitation and partnerships
